Two days after the 2024 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship concluded, 2025 begins. The Circuito de Jerez - Angel Neto hosts the first off-season test for the field as Bimota returns to the Championship and other riders get their first taste of next season’s packages. 18:10 - the chequered flag falls and that's Day 2, and the Jerez test, concluded! Bassani ends it on top ahead of Bimota teammate Lowes, with Gerloff third for Kawasaki. Full report to follow...
18:01 - Bassani's improved his time further to a 1'38.478s. Meanwhile, the test will now finish at 18:10 Local Time (UTC+2)
17:50 - a new name (and brand) at the top of the times! Bassani's just set a 1'38.875s to claim P1
17:35 - we're into the final half an hour of testing, with the chequered flag scheduled to wave at 18:00 Local Time (UTC+2)
17:22 - it's been a solid test for Vickers so far, although the #17 has just had a crash at Turn 1
17:09 - a late improvement for Vierge as he moves into P2 with a 1'39.438s, 0.209s behind Gerloff
16:58 - there have been sporadic appearances on track for several riders in the afternoon. Currently, the only rider circulating is Gerloff
16:19 - Gerloff had briefly been on track but is now in the pits, while Bassani has ventured out along with Mackenzie

15:58 - it's quiet on track with only Vierge lapping Jerez right now. Gerloff still leads Bassani and Lowes
15:25 - Bautista's day has finished, he did the full day yesterday and half-a-day today. His best time on Wednesday was a 1'39.749s
15:08 - a short red flag, and we're back to green flag running again
15:00 - we have a red flag after Bridewell had a highside at Turn 6

13:07 - around half the field are in the box at the moment, so a quick recap: Gerloff leads Bassani and Bautista with Lowes in P4. Mackenzie is the lead Honda in fifth, ahead of Vierge. In WorldSSP, Booth-Amos is 0.014s clear of Oettl
12:20 - Gerloff still leads, but Bassani's improved his time to a 1'39.527s to cement his place in P2

11:46 - Gerloff is still fastest and has so far completed 32 laps, the most of anyone. He's ahead of Bassani and Bautista. A reminder, several teams opted for one day: there's no ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team today, nor Tetsuta Nagashima from the HRC Test Team. Bautista's teammate, Nicolo Bulega, also ended his test yesterday

10:57 - Mackenzie has moved up to fourth on his CBR1000RR-R, which he was trying new items closer to the Team HRC machines on Day 1, while Vierge is fifth. Both are in the 1'39s
10:40 - it's still Bassani leading Bautista and Lowes at the top of the timesheets, with just 0.085s separating them. Gerloff is fourth with Mackenzie fifth and Vickers completing the top six
10:13 - although Lowes has quickly joined that group with a 1'39.775s
10:11 - two riders already into the 1'39s bracket - Bassani (1'39.690s) and Bautista (1'39.764s). The latter is just two tenths away from his time yesterday
10:05 - a frantic start to the day as both Alex Lowes and Axel Bassani hit the track on the Bimota KB998 - neither tested yesterday - while Bautista, Gerloff, Bridewell, Booth-Amos and Vierge have also gone on track straight away

16:15 - Bautista, despite his crash, has been one of the busiest riders on track. He's racked up 71 laps so far, still sitting in second place. He's on track with Bridewell, Booth-Amos and Oettl
15:45 - still fairly quiet on track. Bautista and Vierge continue to lap Jerez, along with Reiterberger and Marino
15:07 - Bulega and Bautista have just exited pitlane, as has Tommy Bridewell on his Honda
14:58 - Oli Bayliss has taken to the track on the PTR Triumph. He's testing with the team at Jerez alongside Tom Booth-Amos
14:40 - it's been a quiet start to afternoon running. Marino is still out on the KB998, and he's joined on track by Vierge and Gerlofff, who's put in 39 laps so far as he adapts to the ZX-10RR
14:20 - riders are just making their way back on track, with Reiterberger for BMW and Marino for Bimota lapping Jerez right now

12:20 - BMW's test will be finished by around 14:00 (Local Time, UTC+2). Their plan was to put mileage on the 2025 engine with test riders Sylvain Guintoli and Marcus Reiterberger, with that test plan completed ahead of Aragon next year - Toprak Razgatlioglu and Michael van der Mark will test there on the M 1000 RR

11:53 - Bulega has gone even faster with a 1'38.142s
11:30 - two hours into the test, and it's Bulega who leads Bautista. The #11 set a 1'38.503s to claim P1 in the early running, with Bautista a second back. Vierge is third, with Gerloff fourth on the ZX-10RR and Mackenzie fifth
11:17 - around half an hour under red flag conditions, but the green flags are waving again

10:15 - Bulega's gone a bit quicker as he's set a 1'38.503s - around a second off his Tissot Superpole time from the weekend. BMW's test team - Marcus Reiterberger and Sylvain Guintoli - have joined the action too, as has Philipp Oettl on the Panigale V2 following his move to Feel Racing for 2025
09:52 - it's very early days in the test of course, but after 20 minutes or so, Nicolo Bulege leads the way ahead of teammate Alvaro Bautista. So far, the two Ducatis have been joined by Xavi Vierge, Tarran Mackenzie, Tetsuta Nagashima and Tommy Bridewell from Honda, plus Florian Marino on the Bimota, Ryan Vickers on the Motocorsa Ducati and, in WorldSSP, Triumph's Tom Booth-Amos
